The Ant Chair came about by Danish Designer Arne Jacobsen in 1952. Arne Jacobsen was employed by Danish Pharmaceutical Firm Novo Nordisk to design a chair for their company canteen / cafe seating. The designed chair became a classic and its name came due to the similarities of the seat to the body and head of an ant.
The Original Ant Chair was designed with 3 legs made of plastic. While still available in 3-leg form, Stools & Chairs offers the version with 4 legs. The use of moulded plywood veneer and lightweight materials meant that the Arne Jacobsen's Ant Chair was manouverable, lightweight and stackable. Great for use in cafe's, restaurants and bars. But also beautiful in its simplicity around the home and dining table.
The chair comes in a range of colours including White, Black, Red, Walnut and Natural Oak
